Community Church in Harrington Park    Foundation

The Community Church of Harrington Park, Inc. Foundation (The word “Foundation” shall hereinafter refer to The Community Church of Harrington Park, Inc. Foundation) was established on October 3, 1973. The Foundation was created to receive, hold, care for, invest and reinvest real and personal property bequests, memorial gifts, funds and allocations from members, friends and Consistory of the Church. Foundation By-Laws were presented and approved by the Congregation in November 1973. A Certificate of Incorporation was issued by the State of New Jersey in January 1974. The affairs of the Foundation are managed by its Board of five Trustees which include the Pastor, Church Treasurer, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and two members of the Greater Consistory appointed by the Consistory. Funds contributed to the Foundation become a permanent part of the Foundation’s principal. Income Generated from the Foundation’s principal investments shall be used exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes, and emergency capital improvements to the Church, and no portion of the Foundation’s principle or income shall be used to fund the Church’s Annual Operating Budget. On all matters relating to the expenditure of funds the affirmative vote of four (4) Trustees is required. On all matters related to the investment or reinvestment of the principal an affirmative vote of three (3) Trustees is required.

Community Church to Award Scholarships

The Community Church is seeking applicants for its Foundation Scholarship Program. Graduating high school seniors planning to continue their education as full-time students at an accredited institution are eligible. The accredited institution may be a two or four year college, university, or business school. The graduating high school seniors eligible are those who are members of the Community Church in Harrington Park. Selection will be based on financial need, grades, church involvement and community service activities. Applications are available in the church office and deadline for submission are due end of April each year.
